Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are used to make the structures?

The majority of components in our frames are constructed from square galvanized steel tubing: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" for 14-gauge buildings and 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" for 12-gauge structures.

Are all buildings required to be certified?

In short, no—certification is not mandatory. However, we highly recommend upgrading your building to be certified. Certified buildings are engineered to meet specific wind and/or snow load requirements for your area, ensuring they are designed to withstand local conditions. Many regions, especially coastal areas, require building permits that adhere to these standards. Certifying your building also ensures that any manufacturer warranties can be applied to your building.

How long until my building will be installed?

We strive to have all our buildings installed as quickly as possible. However, please note that all necessary permits must be approved before we can move your project into the scheduling phase. Once the required permits are secured and the building site is confirmed ready for installation, our typical lead time for installation is 3 to 6 weeks, weather permitting, once the project enters scheduling.

Do I have to pull any permits for my building?

In most cases, permits are required for projects such as this, but there are exceptions. The two most common scenarios where a permit may not be needed are if you obtain a permit exemption certificate from your local building department or if your property is located in an unincorporated area. However, we strongly recommend contacting your local building department to confirm whether any permits are necessary.

It’s important to be aware of your local regulations and choose a structure that meets those requirements. While we will always recommend additional anchoring and bracing for added stability, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure your building complies with your area’s load requirements, as these can change frequently.

How do I know the specs needed to pour my slab?

The concrete specifications for your slab vary depending on your location. We offer engineered drawings that include the necessary concrete details to ensure your slab meets the requirements for proper installation and anchoring. We highly recommend obtaining these drawings before pouring your slab to ensure all specifications are met, preventing any issues when we arrive to install your building.

Do I need to be present when my building is being erected?

Rest assured, your presence is not required during the installation of your building. Our crews undergo extensive training to ensure they are fully qualified to handle the installation process in the field. However, you are welcome to be present if you prefer. The only requirement is that the building site is easily accessible for a dually with a 50' long trailer, and at least 3' of open space around the installation area to allow our team to work efficiently.
